Backpacking Gear Jabber

Selecting gear is one of those things that is personal and requires much research plus trial & error for those serious about enjoying the sport of backpacking. What works for me may not work for you. However, it may give you a starting point and some questions to ask as you select or upgrade your own gear.

I’ve packed a few thousand miles fine tuning my gear list along the way. My gear selection is considered lightweight not ultralight. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that backpacking is all about compromise, there is no perfect!
