UT – Red Canyon – Arches Trail . . . deciphering hues of R255

First impressions of Red Canyon is in your face dramatic especially when driving east out of the Kanab valley.

Kanab is way way way down there somewhere.

But it was a cold, windy, dusty day. I wasn’t in the mood for a long hike. The skies were too perfect. The WOW guidebook had never let me down, but it sort of did on this day. I say sort of because I only strolled the appetizer hike, the Arches Trail. My no regrets policy was broken this day. I’ll be back for a do over!

The most impressive arch.

On this day of dour ‘tude, even the flowers didn’t what to be photographed. Based on my quick research, this appears to be a type of Physaria.

Date(s) Hiked: April 5, 2016

Road Trip Day(s) #46 out of 88
